Customer Challenges & Environmental Demands
Harsh Coastal Environment
- Located in a coastal port zone in Vietnam, the crane must operate under extreme humidity, high temperatures, and severe salt spray. During the summer, the yard is also subject to heavy rains and sudden tropical typhoons.
High-Precision Alignment
- The client mainly fabricates ultra-long and heavy steel box girders for highway bridges. Joint lifting of these massive structures requires a synchronization deviation of less than ±5mm to prevent structural deformation or welding issues.
High-Frequency Operation
- The yard runs continuously for over 16 hours a day, demanding zero equipment downtime to prevent costly project delays.
Customized Solutions by Yixing Crane
Heavy-Duty Corrosion Protection
- All steel structures underwent Sa2.5-grade grit blasting, followed by a high-zinc epoxy primer and polyurethane finish (total paint thickness ≥120μm). Motor and reducer units are fitted with protective rain covers, and the IP55-rated electrical cabinet includes built-in heaters to prevent condensation.
Dual-Trolley PLC Synchronization & VFD
- The crane is equipped with two independent 25-ton hoisting trolleys. Through an integrated PLC system, operators can seamlessly switch between synchronous dual-trolley lifting and independent control. Schneider variable frequency drives (VFD) are applied on all travel and hoisting mechanisms, reducing load swing to near zero during movements.
Active Wind-Resistance Safety
- To defend against coastal winds, we installed active hydraulic rail clamps with a static clamping force of 200 kN (withstanding up to Category 11 typhoons), alongside an anemometer that automatically cuts the control circuit if safe wind speeds are exceeded.
Results & Long-Term Value
Rapid Delivery & Remote Setup
- The equipment was completed 10 days ahead of schedule. Despite travel restrictions at the time, Yixing’s engineering team provided 24/7 remote video guidance and 3D assembly animations, allowing the local crew to successfully erect, wire, and commission the massive cranes in just 8 days.
Flawless Performance
- The cranes have been working under high-intensity conditions for over two years without a single unplanned shutdown. The client's project director remarked: "Yixing’s precise positioning and anti-sway controls have made our steel bridge assembly far more efficient." Based on this success, the client ordered three additional European-type overhead cranes in 2025.
